Hogle Zoo

At the beginning of summer break, Kinley and I sat down with my calendar and basically planned our summer. We plugged in the dates for swim lessons, dance camp, doctor's appointments, Bear Lake and my Art Association meetings. For the remaining days we chose some craft ideas, science experiments and field trips. Needless to say or calendar plans have been tossed out the window since Avery was approved for her cochlear implant and my father's cancer diagnosis. But we did make it to our planned field trip to the zoo. It went much better than planned. I was nervous taking both girls by myself, okay mainly taking Avery to such a public place by myself is nerve racking. But she did really well and Kinley was a big help.
The girl's favorite part was the polar bear. He kept repeating a swimming rotation. He would swim underwater, up to the glass, raise up out of the water and fall back and float away on his back. The first time they saw this, they were both up at the glass and his size scared both girls.
