Christmas
Our Christmas celebrations began with the annual Conder Christmas Party, where Santa joined us. Kinley asked for a bike helmet and Avery asked for an Anna Bed. Santa kept asking Avery, "Is there anything else?" and she would say, "Yes" and proceed to tell him some random fact about our family. This cycle repeated itself multiple times.
The celebrations continued to the Clegg's Party the following day.
Then the girls and I prepared for our annual Christmas Eve/Jimmy Birthday party with our famous sugar cookies.
On Christmas morning, we opened gifts under the tree and shared breakfast with my mom and brother. Later in the day we went to my mom's for dinner and to exchange gifts with my brother's family. Once again we have been blessed throughout the year and are thankful for all of our family and friends.

Avery's Second Implant
We decided a few months ago to go ahead and try to get insurance approval for Avery's second implant. New research and Avery's own data has proven that bimodal (one implant and one hearing aid) are not very successful. I was in the middle of insurance appeals, trying to get Avery's vision therapy approved and was expecting the pre-authorization process to take months. I was SHOCKED with the surgeons office called to say she had been approved on the first attempt and I was even more shocked when they wanted her to go into surgery the following week. I opted instead to wait a month for surgery to gain my bearings and prepare Avery for surgery.
Surgery this time took place at the University of Utah hospital. Everything went well, Avery had a more difficult time than usual waking up from the Anesthesia, she was extremely upset and tried to tear off all of her monitors and IV. But we were able to leave after a couple of hours and make our traditional stop by McDonald's on the way home. And true to Avery fashion she took off her bandages and sterile strips that night.
Back to School
Kinley is in the fifth grade this year, Middle School and Avery is in the first grade. Both girls got to go school shopping and got new glasses.
Capitol Reef
I went to Capitol Reef for the first time for my UAEA Board Retreat. It is a beautiful location. We stayed at the UVU Field House and it was fantastic.
