ABR Results

They almost canceled the test because there was so much fluid in Avery's right ear. But, after speaking to Dr. Kelly and realizing that to postpone the test would be another few months of delay we continued with the test realizing that the test of the right ear might be affected because of the fluid.
Electrodes are placed around the head and probes placed in the ear. Different frequencies are ran through the ear and the electrodes track brain movement.
When she woke up she was very woozy.

The results are what we expected. She has moderate to profound, permanent hearing loss. Specifically, she cannot hear anything under 90 decibels in her left ear and nothing under 70 decibels in her right ear. In environmental terms she cannot hear normal conversation or anything quieter but can hear lawn mowers, yelling, slamming, sirens, etc.

We have another appointment scheduled with the ENT, Dr. Kelly for next week, where they will try and determine why there is hearing loss. Then we will start the process for hearing aides.
