Avery's First Birthday

We noticed on Wednesday that Avery's left eye was becoming irritated, she constantly has something running either her ears, her eyes or her nose. So it is nothing new. We started giving her drops but by Thursday night both eyes looked awful. They were not running like usual so we weren't sure if they were allergies or not and when she woke up on Friday (her birthday) with a fever we thought we better take her to the doctor. It was just pink eye like we thought so we got a stronger perscription. The doctor also informed us that both girls probably have a viral bug going around.

We came home and sterilized all of the toys so that the cousins could come over for cake and ice cream. Avery was pretty miserable, she wouldn't even eat any ice cream which she loves.


This is almost a smile but she really is starting to cry.

She showed a little of a reaction to some of the toys but she mainly just wanted to go to sleep. It is a good thing she won't remember her first birthday because it will not be her favorite but it went fairly smooth considering we had two sick kids.
