Grandpa Emmitt

While on the way home from Santa Fe, Jimmy received news that his Maternal Grandfather had passed away. The news was bittersweet since Grandpa Emmitt had been suffering. Jimmy was asked to be a pallbearer and part of the Military Honor Guard.

Santa Fe

I had to travel to Santa Fe for a Leadership Training Conference so we decided to turn it in to a family summer vacation (Road Trip). My mother joined us on our adventure. We spent the first night in Moab, where we went to Dead Horse Point and went on the Night Boat/Light Show.

We then drove to Santa Fe, swinging by the Four-Corners.

While in Santa Fe I joined everyone for the Living History Museum and Spanish Market. While I was in meetings the girls, Jimmy and my mother went to the Children's Museum and the petting zoo.

Avery's Birthday

We celebrated Avery's birthday a little bit early this year because we were going to be in Santa Fe on the 25th. I look at her everyday and cannot believe that she is already 7 years-old. Seven things about Avery: 1. She loves people, she is not afraid of anyone and believes that everyone is her friend. 2. Avery is physically tough as nails, but extremely sensitive. She only cries when her feelings are hurt. 3. She is making great strides in her speech and her academics, but everyday is a challenge. 4. Avery loves her electronic devices and can type much better than she can write. 5. She is the boss of the house! 6. Avery loves to be held, carried, hugged, kissed, and hold hands (even in her sleep). 7. We are very fortunate to have her in our family!

Aquarium

The girls and I went to the Living Planet Aquarium a few weeks ago. Kinley's favorite part of the aquarium was the otter exhibit and Avery's was the touch pool. My favorite parts were the otters, the penguins and the shark tank.

Princess Contest

Kinley participated in the Kamas Valley Fiesta Princess contest this year. She got to dance in two number and model her formal wear. She also was in the Oakley Parade.

Boatin'

We had to replace the fuel pump in the boat, so we didn't get to use it until the second time Jimmy came up to the lake. Kinley loves to be drug around the lake. She will try anything we give her and she does really well. So far she has been on the knee board, the tube and the Eazy Ski.

Bear Lake for the Week

May and June were both crazy months, so the girls and I planned a week-stay at Bear Lake the last week of June. My mother also stayed up with us. It was perfect, the weather and the water was not ideal but it was the perfect mini vacation.
